There is so much that I like about this book! It's a love-gone-wrong story told through a series of letters that focus on a memento per letter. It's a bit of a slow starter and the letter-writing combined with the first person POV takes a bit to start to flow. Once it does, and we start to piece together Min's story, you'll find this one hard to put down.The romance of Min and Ed is doomed from the start, but it's the kind of bad deal that is inevitable in your youth. The author does a wonderful job with Min. What could become too quirky and overdone remains unique and fitting. Her friends are well-used throughout the story and one of the easy-to-spot plot points is handled with finesse and care.Part of me wanted to smack Ed but most of me just accepted him for what he was the whole time: a high-school boy who saw a really good thing and tried for it. In 5 or 10 years, he might be ready to handle a Min. Don't let the verbosity of Min scare you off. Hidden in the sometimes clunky sentences are little treasures. There are a few pages at the very end of the book that so eloquently describe that no-one-will-ever-love-me-EVER feeling. I love that she finally voices what she's been thinking all along.I read this as a library copy, but I'm going to buy it. I want it on my bookshelf.
