I read. I read. I read.
Elsewhere - Gabrielle Zevin Oh, I really liked this one! It starts out a bit clunky but really settles into itself about 90 pages in. Lizzie is a 15 (almost 16) year-old girl whose life is cut short. Rather, her life as we know it was cut short. Lizzie wakes up on a cruise ship (go with it) and eventually arrives in Elsewhere. Lizzie reunites with her grandmother who had died prior to Lizzie's birth. Lizzie meets a string of people and begins to realize that life isn't over after all.The author has managed to come up with a premise that is new and neat and oh-so-touching. I cried a few times throughout this book because of the wonderfully articulated thoughts on dying and death. The (after)world the author has created makes a whole bunch of sense. I'd recommend this one to anyone and everyone.
